Bulgaria will more and more often grant citizenship to foreign athletes
The “investment” in the young boxer Javier Ibanez proved to be even better than buying Bitcoin in its early days. As Bulgarian citizen, Javier Ibanez became the first Bulgarian to secure a medal in the Paris Olympic games. And this will certainly pave the way for many more athletes from non-EU countries, whom we will help in the future to obtain Bulgarian citizenship for special merits.
Bulgarian sports federations have already realised that raising their own athletes is expensive and time-consuming. And now, like Western European countries, Bulgaria is starting to attract more and more foreign athletes by giving them EU citizenship.
Bulgarian passport and good opportunities for sports career
Many foreign athletes have long sought the best naturalisation opportunities in the EU. And some got lucky to get hold of Bulgarian passport. Many more however will get naturalised in future under the special merits option. And we will definitely be at the forefront by providing ultra professional services to both the athletes directly and to the Bulgarian sports federations. Because, after all, no matter how good the athlete is, getting Bulgarian citizenship for special merits is a tough nut to crack.
